2020 - The Year of Clear Vision

 
     In order to achieve a great goal, we must have a clear vision of what we want the result to be.  Without this clarity, it is impossible to know what it is we are trying to achieve.  Losing excess body fat requires a clear vision of the desired result.  If we just think, "I want to loss some weight", our brain and subconscious has no idea where it is going.
 
     Of course,  the title is a pun.  20/20 in Eye Doctor lingo is perfect vision.  2020 in goal setting, is perfect clarity of focus and of the goal.  We must give our subconscious mind a very sharp image of what we are working toward.  Think of shooting a bow and arrow (even if you have never done it).  The target is a series of rings that end in a small middle circle.  The bullseye.  Same with the game of darts.  In these sports, a clear and defined target exists and is what we are aiming for.
 
     With weight reduction, a clear target must be visualized.  It may be a past photo or ourselves before the weight gain.  It could be a photo of a model we are attempting to emulate.  Maybe putting our head and face on the model's picture can give us the desired outcome.  It may be a target weight number, or a percent body fat, or a level of fitness you are attempting to achieve.  Whatever the target, get a precise picture of it in your mind.
 
     This image whether imagined in our head or an actual photo must be visited often, at least every day.  Keeping the image in the front of our mind continues to define the outcome.  The greater the clarity of our end goal the more likely we are to achieve it.  Sounds hokey, but it truly works.  Sure, planning and work are required, but the planning and work become evident once the end vision is established.
 
     This imagery method works even better if the image is emotionally linked to a strong reason to accomplish the goal.  It's much easier to lose weight if the end result will reverse your diabetes.  The same is true if the end result is how you will look on your daughter's or son's wedding day.  When we link a strong "Why" to our goal, the strategies will come to us and the work needed will be for good reason.
 
     As you move into this year, 2020, develop a clear 20/20 vision of your end result.  Link a strong Why to your target.  Write out the plan you will follow on your journey to thin.  Record your progress and your thoughts daily.  Do the work each and every day.
 
     The end result will be a reward you had only imagined months earlier.  You will be fit, healthy, lean, and ready to move forward to live life to the fullest.  See it clearly, and it will come to pass.  Have Sharp vision, strong purpose and persistence to complete the goal
